Mangais Senior Classic 15-17 July 2023
The second Mangais Senior Classic took place at the magnificent Mangais Golf Resort, south of Luanda. It was played from the 15th – 17th July.
After 3 rounds of first class golf, it was Doug McGuigan who collected the coverted Sable trophy on a score of 10 under par 206. Only a single shot behind was Wallie Coetsee on 9 under par. In 3rd spot was (-8) Michael Scholz & 4th was James Kingston (-7). A really first class field took part this year & as always the cream rose to the top.
Fidelity Pro-Am
The final round of the Fidelity Pro-Am came to a conclusion today at the Jackal Creek Golf Estate. This is the second in the Fidelity series.
Chris Williams led the pack at the close of the 1st round with a superb 66. 2 shots further back were Brett Liddle & Callie Swart on 4 under 68. Local Professional, Ashley Roestoff finished his first round 3 back on 69. A tight match ensued in the final round. Callie Swart emerged victorius on a total of 141, 1 shot clear of Chris Williams 142, Brett Liddle finished 3rd with 143 followed by Ashley Roestoff on 145.
The players found the greens a bit tricky today, but none the less a good result overall. Well done to the 25 professionals who made the cut.

Fidelity Pro-Am
A stunning finish to the Fidelity Pro-Am held at the Kyalami Country Club this week.
Michael Scholz started the event with a 5 under par round of 67. Hot on his heels was Paul Marks on 3 under 69. The final round saw these seasoned professionals going head to head. Michael just pipped Paul to the post at the 18th with a birdie 4 while Paul only managed a par. Michael dedicated his win to his late mother & John Bland.

2023 Nelson Mandela Bay Classic
The current tournament is the 2023 Nelson Mandela Bay Classic. The tournament takes place at the Humewood Golf Club from 10-12 May 2023.

Winner of the 2023 Nelson Mandela Bay Classic – Adilson da Silva. A rain delayed finish saw the last group of da Silva, Horne & McGuigan play the last 3 holes in a very cold & rainy situation. Play was delayed for about 30 minutes & the trio finished in high spirits with a crowd supporting them from the clubhouse.

zambesi Gold Senior Pga Championship
The 2023 Zambesi Gold Senior PGA Championship takes place at the Parys Golf Club from 19-21 April 2023.
Doug McGuigan wins the 2023 Zambesi Gold Senior PGA Championship after a playoff with James Kingston. Both players finished regulation play on 208, 8 under par. The playoff took place on the 18th hole.
Doug found the left rough with his second & chipped out to about 2 mtrs. He holed the putt for a birdie & the win.
James found the grenside bunker with his second & chipped out & two putted for par.

The Sunshine Senior Tour is the official Professional Golf Tour for professional golfers over the age of 50 years, in South Africa and surrounding territories, and is affiliated to the Sunshine Tour by way of agreement between the parties.
The organisation is a registered Section 21 company and is responsible for all senior Professional golf in South Africa and neighbouring countries.
A Board of Directors is in place and are responsible for the good governance of the tour. A Player’s Committee has been installed, reports to the Board and is the conduit between the players and the Board.
