The newest event on the Sunshine Senior Tour calendar is the Simon Hobday Classic.
In memory of the late, great Simon Hobday the tournament has concluded at the Dainfern Golf Estate in Fourways, Johannesburg. What an event it turned out to be, Simon Hobday Jnr was on hand throughout the event & handed the trophy to a well deserved winner, James Kingston on a total score of 10 under par.
James was chased by a pack of seasoned professionals, Chris Williams (-6), Peter Wilson (-5), Neil Cheetham (-4), Callie Swart (-3), Gerhard Scheepers (-2) & Gary Thompson (-1).
Mo Lombard from Lombard Tyres sponsored a R3,000 voucher for the nearest the pin on the par 4, 9th hole. It was won by Rocky Tlhabanyane who put his approach shot about 30cms from the hole. Well done Rocky & thank you Lombard Tyres.
James Kingston is jetting off the the USA to compete in the Champions Tour alongside fellow Senior Professional, Kevin Stone, we wish them safe travels & low scores.
